DESIGN CONCEPT
This remodel centers on light, warmth, and connection. The kitchen was redesigned to feel calm and coastal, pairing soft neutral cabinetry with a bold blue island and hood for balanced visual weight. Warm metal tones, updated lighting, and layered storage create a space that feels both elevated and inviting, encouraging gathering in the heart of the home.
The primary bathroom was transformed into a serene retreat, replacing the oversized corner tub and dark finishes with clean lines, soothing greens, and a freestanding soaking tub. Natural light now defines the atmosphere, creating a spa-like escape at home.
ORIGINAL FLOOR PLAN
Before renovation, the kitchen felt heavy and enclosed, with deep, dark cabinetry and a tile countertop that shortened sightlines and limited workspace. Circulation between appliances was restricted, and the island did not support the way the clients lived day to day. The dining and family room sat adjacent, but did not fully integrate with the kitchen, leaving the spaces feeling disconnected.
In the primary bathroom, the corner platform tub consumed an unnecessary amount of floor space, while the brown walls and bulky vanity absorbed light from the skylight rather than reflecting it. Storage was limited to wire shelving and cabinetry that lacked structure and intentionality, and the overall room layout did not support the clients’ morning routines.
NEW FLOOR PLAN
The updated kitchen establishes a more functional footprint with intentional appliance placement and work zones that support cooking, hosting, and daily living. The island is extended to offer comfortable seating and generous prep space, while banquette seating along the existing half wall creates a natural dining transition between the kitchen and family room. Floating shelves with integrated lighting add display potential and warmth, and the reconfigured cabinetry provides structured, purposeful storage.
The primary bathroom now features a freestanding soaking tub below the skylight, allowing natural light to anchor the space. The new double vanity offers tailored storage and integrated electrical within the cabinetry. Materials were selected to promote calm: soft green cabinetry, marble-look surfaces, and white tile with subtle movement. Updated plumbing fixtures, tile, and lighting complete the space with a modern yet timeless finish.
